From our W series curved edge banding machines to our latest KN810 and KN800 double-stacked arm edge banding machines, each machine has been upgraded and improved to make the machine more effective and easier to operate. Among the functions of these machines, the way to cut the edge banding is an inconspicuous but important function. Now the machines on the market basically have the functions of automatic belt feeding and automatic belt breaking, but there are many different ways to automatically break the belt. Today, let me introduce the different ways to cut the edge banding of our curved edge banding machines.

1. Pedal cutting

Principle: Control the cutter by stepping on the pedal. When the pedal is pressed, the cutter falls and cuts the edge strip. When the pedal is released, the cutter returns to its original position

Influencing factors: Degree of proficiency in judging the length of the edge strip from the interface

Error: 3-5cm

2. Timing belt break:

Principle: According to speed × time equals length, set the edge banding stop time, the machine automatically breaks the belt. When using it, you need to fix the motor speed first, set 10s, calculate the speed according to the length of the edge banding strip, and then set different times according to the board size.

Influencing factors: motor speed, curve timer time setting

Note: If the motor speed changes, the speed and time need to be recalculated

Error: 3-5cm

3.Meter-based belt break

Principle: When the edge band moves, it will drive the encoder wheel to move. The encoder measures the length of the edge band and automatically breaks the belt when it reaches the set value.

Influencing factors: The difference between the encoder 500 limit and 2000 limit, the more accurate the measurement value, the more the motor rotation speed and the tightness of the strip spring will affect the error.

Error 1-3mm

4.Mechanical belt break: It is used only when the board needs to be sealed for a week.

Principle: When the edge banding strip at the starting point passes through the mechanical docking switch, the edge banding strip will pull the mechanical docking switch open, and the machine will automatically break the belt.

Influencing factors: Encoder, strip spring, edge banding speed and motor brand will affect the docking error.

Error: ±0.6mm

5.Laser tape breakage: It is only used when the board needs to be sealed for a week.

Principle: The laser probe will sense the height difference between the board and the edge banding. If a 1mm edge banding is used, the laser shines on the blank board, the height is 30mm, when the laser shines on the board with edge banding, the height will become 29mm, and the laser sensor will automatically break the tape.

Influencing factors: whether the surface of the board is clean and flat, whether the laser sensor is adjusted accurately, the thickness of the edge banding (recommended to be greater than 0.5mm) and color, edge banding operation speed, encoder, strip spring will affect the docking result

Error: ±0.3mm.
